First Family Trip of 2021 - Yosemite National Park

After a month of being diagnosed with anxiety due to unexpected circumstances, I finally got a little vacay from life and hung out with the fam for a whole weekend. DEFINITELY NEEDED THIS!

This is what I learned so far from all of the suffering i've experienced throughout last month... is that we ONLY have one life, this ain’t no practice session, this is the real deal. LIVE IT!

All love!

The journey is your life, and your life is the journey.

The average human life is relatively short. You will only ever live the life you create for yourself. Some kind of failure always occurs before success. Thinking and doing are two very different things. You don’t have to wait for an apology to forgive. Some people are simply the wrong match for you.

Personal development is the conscious choice to improve one’s life to become a better person and to grow as an individual. It’s not other people’s job for to love you; it’s yours.

You can’t let people scare you. You can’t go your whole life trying to please everyone else. You can’t go through life worried about what everyone else is going to think. You can’t let the judgement of others stop you from being you. Because if you do, you are no longer you.

Remember, the only thing you own is YOU.

ENJOY THE JOURNEY.

PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN: WHAT'S THE STORY?

As a creative, there are more things into a design than just a pretty picture or a pretty t-shirt… There are actually “principles” to create a long lasting graphic that will hopefully last for generations to come. I just feel like if you create a design, you would want to “tap into the consumer’s emotions.”

Here are the Principles of Design:

Balance: is the distribution of the visual weight of objects, colors, texture, and space. If the design was a scale, these elements should be balanced to make a design feel stable. (In symmetrical balance, the elements used on one side of the design are similar to those on the other side; in asymmetrical balance, the sides are different but still look balanced. In radial balance, the elements are arranged around a central point and may be similar.)

Emphasis: is the part of the design that catches the viewer’s attention. Usually the artist will make one area stand out by contrasting it with other areas. The area could be different in size, color, texture, shape, etc.

Movement: is the path the viewer’s eye takes through the work of art, often to focal areas. Such movement can be directed along lines, edges, shape, and color within the work of art.

Pattern: is the repeating of an object or symbol all over the work of art.

Repetition: works with pattern to make the work of art seem active. The repetition of elements of design creates unity within the work of art.

Proportion: is the feeling of unity created when all parts (sizes, amounts, or number) relate well with each other. When drawing the human figure, proportion can refer to the size of the head compared to the rest of the body.

Rhythm: is created when one or more elements of design are used repeatedly to create a feeling of organized movement. Rhythm creates a mood like music dancing. To keep rhythm exciting and active, variety is essential.

Variety: is the use of several elements of design to hold the viewer’s attention and to guide the viewer’s eye through and around the work of art.

Unity: is the feeling of harmony between all parts of the work of art, which create a sense of completeness.

LIFE-TIME MACHINE

Don't let life take away your endless power. Be happy for this ‘moment.’ This ‘moment’ is your life. When we live completely from the mind over a period of time, we lose touch with the infinite self, and then we begin to feel lost. This happens when we’re in ‘doing mode’ all the time, rather than ‘being mode’ the latter means letting ourselves be who and what we are without judgement. Being doesn’t mean that we don’t do anything. It’s just that our actions stem from following our emotions and feelings while staying present in the moment. Doing, on the other hand, is future focused, with the mind creating a series of tasks that take us from here to there in order to achieve a particular outcome, regardless of our current emotional state. We should be lifting each other up, and cheering one another on. Not trying to outshine, or one up each other. The sky would be awfully dark, with only one star.

Don't let someone tell you that you can't do something. If you got a dream, you protect it. When people can't do something themselves, they're going to tell you that you can't do it. You want something, go get it. PERIOD. The goal is to not get rich, the goal is to live rich.

Neighborhood Nipsey x Ayexgee x Vans

I've always been a HUGE fan of rap royalty Nipsey HussleNip is an incredible philanthropist and also an amazing entrepreneur. He inspires me on how to run my business as well, by showing me what really "starting from the bottom" was really all about.

I decided to mockup a potential collaboration look for his brand The Marathon Clothing and VANS Sk8 Hi's. I used the biggest symbolism of Nipsey, which is the gang that he always claims when he raps, the "rollin' 60's crips." So I decided to use the blue bandana material, using different types of paisley leaves material that originated from his country, Eritrean. Also used his trademark "Crenshaw" logo script on the back embroided.

KEEP HUSSLIN'!
